After a wonderful outing last year this year’s pilgrimage and day out  is again to Innisfallen Island Killarney.  On the Island are  the ruins of St Finian’s monastery which dates back to 640. There  monastic communities lived, prayed and worked. They are famous for writing the Annals of Inisfallon , a manuscript similar to the book of kells.

We will leave Killarney town at 10am enjoying an early morning walk to Ross Castle (40 minutes).  Or you can choose to skip that bit  to meet at Ross Castle at 10.45 am Then  by boat with Charlie the boat man from Ross Castle to the Island . There  we will meditate in this sacred place drawing inspiration from those who went before us on their spiritual quest .   After a picnic and a walk around the Island, we take our boat through the lakes and meeting of the waters to Dinis cottage for coffee.   After our break we have a 5km walk (1 hr )  to Muckross house and Gardens where we can relax .  A shuttle  bus  will bring us back to killarney town to pick up our cars. Any one with a car at Ross Castle will get a spin there!
