“Becoming Familiar with our Distractionand how not to take the bait! “
. How can something as simple as mindfulness be so difficult to practice? Because we are constantly distracted. We have deeply ingrained habits of indulging and suppressing. Seeing clearly what form our distractions take and what underlying emotion drives the distraction helps the meditator remain in a state of non-distraction and live life with more mindfulness.
Sessions of calm abiding (shinay) meditation will be accompanied by exercises in working with distraction so we can see clearly what hooks us and how we can stop taking the bait! We begin to see our choices – we can choose to indulge the distraction or choose to return to life.
The afternoon includes a guided loving kindness practice as well as a tea break!
Everyone is welcome
