Using Mantra as a support for meditation and a means of transformation

Following on from our Guru Tai Situ pa Rinpoche’s New Year message that emphasised the need for prayer in 2020, how to pray and how prayer works within a Vajryana Buddhist tradition is worth exploring,
Some of the questions that may arise are; who do we pray to? What’s the best way to pray? How does prayer work? How does it differ from Christian prayer? What does meditation have to do with prayer? How is mantra is used both as a meditation support and vehicle for  transformation?

The afternoon will consist mainly of meditation sessions  using mantras that help with protection from and pacification of COVID 19 ,as well as mantras to help those affected by illness. There will also be a guided  loving kindness practice.

“According to the Western calendar,
the year 2020 is twenty-twenty,
which is a very special number.
Therefore, at this time
there will naturally be many different occurrences in this world.
There will be many positive occurrences
and also many negative ones.
Because of that, we need to pray for the positive ones to arise
and for the negative ones not to take place.”
from the New Year Blessing by Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Tai Situ Pa
